“liveblog” of the first Infinity Train episode, unedited because where else am I supposed to dump stuff like this

  • GAME CODING COMPETITOR TULIP CONFIRMED
  • there’s a lot of exposition in these first few minutes which doesn’t thrill me but I like the friend
  • mom’s voice is A+
  • y’know I didn’t think we’d get anything from tulip’s everyday life? but HMM
  • TULIP NO DON’T USE WARPED COMIC SANS
  • the painterly backgrounds are really nice
  • she doesn’t have like. friends’ parents who can bring her or something?
  • tulip walks all the way to her game club the scene. gotta go fast
  • POLAR EXPRESS VIBES
  • her sarcasm is so fucking great
  • “you have really good speech recognition” :DD
  • “bagel mother” that’s gonna end up being foreshadowing calling it now
  • was one-one left on the snowman to freeze and die or something
  • TAKES BIG INSPIRATION NOTES ON THE BLOCK ROOM
  • tulip that’s a really basic game but I support you
  • “unlike my name which is Tulip and is perfectly normal”
  • JUST SUCK SOMEONE INTO A BLACK HOLE JUST FUCKIGN
  • holy SHIT that’s a big train
  • oh what FUNKY creature designs
  • so are these things related to the black hole or what
  • oh shit wasn’t the wire monster called The Conductor
  • THAT’S IT?
  • THAT’S IT???????

HMM okay so my overall thoughts were like. really narration-/tulip-talking-to-herself heavy but it’s a kids’ cartoon debut so whatever ig. did Not expect like a quarter of the ep to focus on her home life but that’s an interesting touch & I wonder if the code camp will end up having something to do with the whole train mystery? it definitely felt like a prologue more than a complete story on its own which is pretty dang cool for what could very well be a long-running overarching story

admittedly if I have one teeny tiny gripe it’s that the animation feels a Tad stiff but I’m starting to feel like that’s like.. Modern Cartoon Problem and not at all exclusive to this/She-Ra/SU/what have you but anyway. Cool StuffTM
